Envases Ureña S.A. (VAT no.: ES-A18054775) is a family business located in the province of Granada, in the South of Spain. Its beginnings date back to 1952 as a manufacturer of wooden boxes packaging for horticultural products, which was selled throughout Spain. In 1986, it was incorporated under the form of a limited company by shares and began to develop its international export sales, reaching markets such as Morocco, Portugal, France and Italy.

During the first years of the 21st century, the company decided to start manufacturing 100% RPET trays, for which we did a big investment to incorporate the most technologically advanced machines. In 2019, we had already increased our RPET tray production capacity, for which a new investment was made in extrusion and thermoforming machines. When these new machines will be properly manufacturing, our production capacity will be approximately 650 million 100% RPET trays.

The company is currently run by the third generation of the family and aims to expand into other European countries, to strengthen its presence in the European market. Envases Ureña has 3 production sites. The oldest of about 18,000 m2 located in Iznalloz (Granada) is the headquarters and where we are manufacturing wooden boxes packaging. The other 2, of about 7,000 m2, are located in Atarfe (Granada) and where we are manufacturing 100% RPET trays. The company has 68 employees who, through their efforts, passion, dedication and knowledge, contribute to the company’s objectives of efficiency, quality, environmental friendliness and customer service.

Envases Ureña holds the prestigious BRC packaging certification at grade AA, as well as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications. Every year, we are committed to the strictest quality, environmental, occupational health and safety management systems controls, which have been passed with the highest qualifications.

The company specialises in the manufacture of 100% RPET thermoformed trays specially designed for cherry tomatoes and red fruits, for which it has a wide variety of product references. Envases Ureña is a reference in the field of fruit and vegetable tray suppliers in Southern Spain.
